Virginia Statewide Neighborhood Conference Call for Presentations

The Virginia Statewide Neighborhood Conference Planning Committee is now accepting 90 minute workshop proposals for presentation at the 17th Annual Virginia Statewide Neighborhood Conference scheduled for Friday, September 30 - Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel in Arlington, VA. The theme for this year’s conference is: Creating Diverse and Sustainable Communities.

Based on evaluations from last year’s conference, topics of interest for this year’s conference and Youth Café should include, but are not limited to:

  • Neighborhoods
  • Housing
  • Economy
  • Civic Organizations

Proposals should be submitted using the following format as a guide:

Workshop Information:

  • Title
  • Description (150 words maximum as this will be used to prepare the conference registration and program booklets)
  • Skills and Knowledge
  • Session Format (i.e. Debate, panel discussion, lecture, etc.)
  • Participant Outcomes
  • Audiovisual Equipment to be used (Presenters to supply their own audiovisual equipment.)

  • Company / Organization
  • Address, City, State, Zip
  • Phone: Daytime, Evening, Fax
  • Email Address
  • Presenter Brief Bio

Workshops will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016, 1:00-5:00 pm and Saturday, October 1, 2019 between 9:00 am and 12:30pm. Presenters must be available to present during these times until their actual workshop time and date has been confirmed.

All workshop submissions are due by 5:00 pm on May 1, 2016. Incomplete proposals will not be accepted. Selected presentations are notified via emails in June with time and day of presentation. Workshop presenters are responsible for registration and hotel cost if attending the conference.
